Trevoh Chalobah has celebrated on Instagram the signing of a new Chelsea contract, which has seen a wave of responses from current and ex-teammates.

The 22-year-old signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge on Thursday to commit his future to his boyhood club.

Trevoh Chalobah received plenty congratulations from both current and former Chelsea teammates.

The Blues confirmed that their defender has penned a fresh four-and-a-half-year deal after making a huge impact so far in the 2021/22 season.

Surprisingly, he’s already made 10 appearances and scored two goals. The quick centre-half is providing genuine competition in the back-three for some top-class experienced defenders like Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Chalobah has received plenty of messages on social media after his contract news, including from the likes of Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Also, West Ham’s Declan Rice, who played in the Chelsea academy, gave his four-word reaction to the contract news:

Trevoh Chalobah’s long-term contract is a reward for his eye-catching start to the season and it looks like he may be a part of the squad for the long-term future. Another diamond that Chelsea have managed to pluck from their academy.
