Mateo Kovacic and Andreas Christensen will both miss tomorrow night’s match against Arsenal, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed in his press conference just now.

The Blues boss had had a good run with few injuries since arriving, despite the heavy schedule, and apart from Thiago Silva’s early absence he’s had a consistently fit squad to pick from until Mateo Kovacic picked up his tweak a month ago.

Both will be back before the end of the season, and it sounds like both could still be in contention for the Champions League final too. Christensen limped off against Manchester City at the weekend but Tuchel confirmed it wasn’t as bad as it looked

On Christensen, Tuchel said his season is hopefully not over and the aim is to have him back for one of the games vs Leicester.

Kovacic has been a miss – but fans have loved seeing Billy Gilmour step up in his absence. To be honest – we can beat Arsenal without them.
