Thomas Tuchel was reportedly eager to keep Tino Anjorin at Chelsea this season before he joined Lokomotiv Moscow on loan.
football.london claims Tuchel had aspirations of working with Anjorin for the term.
The Blues boss had been impressed by the teenager’s performances in training following his takeover from Frank Lampard in January.
“He’s confident, he’s strong, he’s creative. He scores a lot of goals and assists a lot of goals in training,” said Tuchel last month about the academy graduate.
However, the young midfielder clearly felt his progression would be best served away from Stamford Bridge.
His move to Lokomotiv was confirmed on Thursday, a deal that could involve a permanent £17m (football.london) transfer in January.
The Blues have included similar passages in the contracts of Tammy Abraham, Marc Guehi and Tino Livramento, all pupils of the Cobham school.
Anjorin is the latest to flee the nest after an exodus of young talents left Chelsea in the summer.
