Werner arrived at Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig last summer for around £47.5million, but struggled in his first season.
However, Chelsea look set to retain the services of star striker Timo Werner beyond this summer’s transfer window despite interest having been shown in the former Leipzig man by La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.

Hence, despite Werner’s extended stretch of inconsistency last season, however, the new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has voiced his faith in the German’s capabilities as the man to lead the line for the Blues heading into the next season.
Recent speculation had linked Werner with a move to Spain as Chelsea eyed up a summer swoop for Frenchman Raphael Varane who is yet to agree upon a new contract with Real Madrid and talk of the Blues using Werner as a makeweight in their approach for the centre-back gained ground.
Werner’s agent Karlheinz Forster played down such claims while speaking on the German podcast Meine Bayern-Woche where the player’s representative confirmed that his client is set to stay put at Chelsea beyond this summer and that Werner felt comfortable at the club.
What’s been said:
“You can’t rule out anything, but if I had to assess it at the moment, then I would say very clearly that Timo will stay at Chelsea.
“He feels comfortable there. A move will not be an issue in the foreseeable future.”
