Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has stated that Romelu Lukaku made some crucial mistakes in Inter’s Champions League final defeat that would be difficult to accept.
Late in Inter’s Champions League final loss to Manchester City, Romelu Lukaku squandered a golden chance to equalize. And Henry, his former Belgian national team assistant manager, admitted that the striker will certainly struggle with his mistake.
“He’s gonna have to go through exactly what he went through after the World Cup,” Henry said on CBS Sports. “People will still, although I think it was a tough one with Dimarco, people will still blame him.
Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirms Romelu Lukaku will return to Chelsea this summer
“The header in the six-yard box will come back to haunt him. He’s gonna have to live with that. I’ve lost finals, I’ve won finals, sometimes you’re not on the right side.
Similar struggles occurred by Lukaku during the World Cup when he failed to take advantage of a couple of chances in Belgium’s draw with Croatia in their last group stage match, a game that their team really needed to win.
It’s unclear what Rumelu Lukaku‘s future holds. Despite being on loan from Chelsea to Inter, he has expressed interest in relocating to Italy.
