It finally looks as if Mount is going to leave the club after a number of months of speculation that he would be leaving the side he grew up with.

This season has seen injuries and form keep him out of the side, which has obviously caused some frustration in his camp.

Liverpool were originally deemed the favourites to pull off a deal, however it seems they have fallen way down the pecking order to bring him in.

Silva reacts to Mount news

Last week, reports broke that United manager Erik ten Hag was personally leading his club’s interest in the England international, with them now advancing in negotiations on the players’ side.

Now, it seems as if the players at Old Trafford are convinced that they will be playing alongside the 24-year-old when next season gets underway.

There is still a bit of a gap in the price both sides value the deal out, with Chelsea still likely to be holding out for as much as possible in order to part ways with one of their homegrown stars.

It seems as if the impact of bringing in Mauricio Pochettino, who apparently wanted to keep Mount, has come too late. Chelsea may regret the lengthy recruitment process they underwent in the short run here.

Silva is likely to be one of the Chelsea players who are gutted at the news that one of the most popular figures at the club is set to be on the move, and replacing him will be one of the most important decisions the new ownership have to get right.
