There is finally a little bit of juicy action out there today in terms of Chelsea related transfer news.

Things have been rather up and down  on the news front as it seemingly turned a bit quieter over the last week or so.

But a player who has been heavily linked with Chelsea in recent transfer windows has shaken up the rumour mill a little today.

Declan Rice has rejected two new contract offers from West Ham and he is not expected to accept any further offers either, according to The Guardian.

Rice was always considered a Frank Lampard target, but the report says that he is a key target for Tuchel now as well, and Tuchel wants him.

Rice was released by Chelsea at 14 and is interested in a return to his boyhood club. His best friend Mason Mount plays there and Chelsea’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, has identified Rice as a key target.

Chelsea will open a space in midfield on Thursday by allowing Billy Gilmour to join Norwich on loan for the season. Tuchel won the Champions League last season and is set to be backed by Roman Abramovich in the transfer market.

The German boss will be backed by Roman Abramovich in the market this summer, per the same report, so we will have to see just how far that backing will go in terms of transfer fees!
