Chelsea shot stopper Edouard Mendy backed himself to defeat Antonio Rudiger in an arm-wrestling competition.

During a Q&A session on the 5th Stand app, Mendy was asked whether he could beat the German in a battle of the biceps.
It would take one brave man to contest Rudiger in any kind of one-on-one duel. His warrior genetics make him a real menace to opponents, both physically and intellectually.
He’ll happily go shoulder to shoulder with anyone, but also look straight into their eyes in preparation for a scuffle. Rudiger very much has the Diego Costa mentality about him; eat or be eaten.

Yet, Mendy clearly felt confident enough to throw down the gauntlet to his fellow defence-minded Chelsea teammate.
“That’s an easy one and Toni would say the same – it’s me!”, said Edouard Mendy about the arm-wrestling challenge.
With Rudiger ticked off the list, who else could step up to Mendy’s invitation in Thomas Tuchel’s squad?
We reckon Romelu Lukaku would give the goalie a very good run for his money.
As would Reece James, whose strength is constantly being spoken about. Malang Sarr might be a dark horse to take down Mendy. Relatively small for a defender, Sarr can certainly hold his own against much bigger players.

Kepa Arrizabalaga looks like he’s packing quite a few muscles under that tight goalkeeper jersey. He and Mendy would have to keep their gloves on, just for the entertainment value.
Does anyone else really want to see Chelsea set up an in-house arm wrestling tournament!?
