John Terry has been one of the first former Chelsea players to send gratitude to Roman Abramovich following his huge decision to sell the club.
Roman Abramovich declared he would be stepping down from his post at the helm of the organisation he built from the ground up.
“Please know that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and it pains me to part with the Club in this manner,” wrote the 55-year-old.
“However, I do believe this is in the best interest of the Club.”
Abramovich, who bought the Blues for £140million back in 2003, saw the men’s first-team collect 19 trophies, including every title available.
Terry witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly at Chelsea during a career that started in 1998 and spanned 19 years in South West London.
He and Abramovich won pretty much everything that there was to win together, hence his heartfelt reply to the former chief on Instagram.
“Thank you Roman @chelseafc. The best owner in the WORLD,” the 41-year-old wrote.
We echo Terry’s words; thank you for everything, Roman.
