The forward found the net inside the first minute before his second goal at 22nd minute to give Jose Mourinho’s men the perfect start at the Stadio Olimpico.

Tammy Abraham broke a long-held record held by Roma striker Gabriel Batistuta after bagging twice against arch rivals Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday

Former Chelsea striker had bagged 21 goals in his debut campaign in the Italian capital on Sunday’s clash.

Abraham joined Jose Mourinho’s side in a £40m from Chelsea and has been the club’s player of the season so far.

Only Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella had scored as many goals as Abraham [21] in their debut seasons at the club but the former Aston Villa hitman surpassed both players with a brace in the first half against Lazio.

Lorenzo Pellegrini scored a stunning long-range free-kick after Abraham’s double to give Roma a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.

Mourinho’s side are in dire need of the three points, which would take them above their city rivals and into 5th.
