Thuram talks ‘opened’

Chelsea are reportedly in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach about Marcus Thuram joining them in January.

Thuram has a variety of suitors to pick from when his contract in Germany expires in June, including Bayern Munich and Manchester City. The striker, who was a member of the France team that advanced to the World Cup final in Qatar last year, has 10 goals in 15 Bundesliga outings this season.

The 25-year-old will be available for free transfers in the summer, but Chelsea is reportedly eager to get him this month and bring him to Stamford Bridge. As Graham Potter‘s team continues to be in desperate need of a natural goal scorer, Fabrizio Romano claims that the Blues have “started talks to explore” a move for Thuram this month.

Real Madrid edge Gvardiol

In the competition to sign defender Josko Gvardiol, Real Madrid appears ready to surpass Chelsea. Chelsea pursued Gvardiol throughout the majority of 2022, believing an agreement had been reached during the summer, but instead, they witnessed him sign a new contract.
