According to a report by the Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Sergio Ramos has popped out on Chelsea list heading into this summer transfer window.
Thomas Tuchel thinks to swoop either Ramos or his defensive partner Raphael Varane away from Madrid.
Sergio Ramos plays a vital role for Real Madrid and he’s probably one of the best defenders of this football era.
Ramos played just 21 of 52 games for Madrid in 2020/21.
However, his future has been up in the air for the better part of the past twelve months, which has now attract the interest of Chelsea.
The Blues have already seen the benefits from one veteran signing Thiago Silva, whose his great experience has helped in critical matches.
Thomas Tuchel may be looking for another reinforcement in the heart of Chelsea defence.
With Fikayo Tomori is set to join AC Milan while Kurt Zouma could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer- Chelsea could be prompted to land a possible replacement.
Tuchel seems to be weighing between Ramos and Varane, who has also been linked with Manchester City. Ramos’ future at Madrid will be cleared in few days as his contract is running out this month end.
What’s left to be seen is if Ramos will sign a new deal with Madrid, which will then raise speculation about his next destination.
It will then be interesting to see if Chelsea end up swooping him away on a free transfer, just as they had done with Silva last summer.
