Sadio Mane’s wages at Bayern Munich are reputedly among the highest in the world.
During his time at Liverpool, the Senegal international’s agent stated that Mane was paid well, but now he is among the highest-paid players after signing a £35 million deal with the Bavarian side.
According to the German news site Bild, Mane will earn £17 million per year at Bayern after signing a contract extension until 2025.
During his stay with the German champions, he will earn an eye-watering £51 million.
Mane announced his intention to quit Anfield following six successful years with the club; he was one of the club’s first key signings under Jurgen Klopp.
Mane has matured into one of the best players in the world since joining Liverpool for £34 million from Southampton, where he was part of a fearsome front three alongside Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.
Mane pushed for a move away this summer because he wanted a new challenge, but as reports surfaced that he reportedly sought for a significant pay increase to stay at Liverpool, his agent, Bacary Cisse, dismissed the claims as ‘false.’
“Those are false rumors,” he replied. We didn’t want to talk about it.”
In all competitions, Mane made 269 appearances and scored 120 goals. The Senegalese won the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the Champions League, and the Premier League during his six years with Liverpool.
