Rudiger as Chelsea defender seeks €60,000 pay rise, the defender has entered the last year of his contract.
Dean Jones is carving himself out a nice niche as a “transfer expert” on Eurosport, and today he’s got an interesting angle on the Antonio Rudiger situation.
The defender has entered the last year of his contract, and was looking for an extra £20,000 a week to sign a new one back in March when discussions were last underway.

Chelsea have to be very careful here. Losing Rudiger for nothing would be a blow, but they should be aware that trapping themselves into a monster deal with a defender who can unquestionably have bad periods would also be a mistake.
The last thing they want is another financial dead weight they can’t shift because no other team wants to take on his contract.
