Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand admits N’Golo Kante is the Europe’s Most Valuable Player, both for France and for Chelsea.
Kante played a vital role in Chelsea’s Champions League success last term, earning himself Man of the Match awards in both semi-final legs against Real Madrid and then in the final against Manchester City.
Chelsea star is a vital cog in France’s midfield and Didier Deschamps’ side are overwhelming favourites to win the Euros, despite their slow start to the tournament.
Ferdinand says France’s hopes hinge on Kante, who he’s described as the most important player in the tournament.
Ferdinand told the BBC;
‘I’d go as far as to say he’s the most valuable player in this tournament, if not in Europe completely,’
‘I think a big part of his game is he surprises you.
‘I know we all know him, but there’s elements of his game where he comes out of nowhere because he’s so quick, he anticipates things so well. He’s the MVP.’
France played 2-2 draw against Portugal last night and that opens a set-up a tie against Switzerland in the last-16, with the two sides set to play in Bucharest.
Kante has formed a formidable partnership with Pogba in the heart of France’s midfield and the pair have never lost a game together in which they’ve started, stretching back 30 matches.
