Kai Havertz could well be on his way out of Chelsea this summer, despite the fact that Real Madrid has cooled their interest.

90min claims Real Madrid have stepped back in their pursuit to sign Kai Havertz due to his price tag. This comes after holding talks with the 23-year-old’s representatives.

It is understood that Chelsea want in excess of £70million to sell the German attacker in the upcoming transfer window, which is not the kind of fee that the Spanish giants will get near.

The report adds that incoming Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino would be ready to sanction Havertz’s sale.

90min says there’s still ‘a real chance’ that Havertz leaves Stamford Bridge this summer.

They claim that Paris Saint-Germain have been alerted to the Chelsea star’s availability as they try to replace Lionel Messi. Also, Bayern Munich are long-term admirers of the Blues forward.

We will now wait and see if any club decides to approach Havertz, who’s about to enter the final two years of his contract at the Bridge.

The Daily Mail claimed this week that Chelsea will sell Havertz this summer if he doesn’t agree to sign a new deal at the club.

Messi scored 21 goals and made 20 assists in his final PSG season, so replacing his output moving forward could be a big challenge for the French giants.

We massively doubt that Havertz could get anywhere near those numbers in the PSG line-up, but it would be interesting to see how he fares with them.

In our view, Havertz needs to operate in a No 10 position rather than as the frontline centre-forward.
