Chelsea have made an opening offer for Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to a report today.

This transfer saga has been going on for a long time now, and I’m sure we won’t see a conclusion anytime soon despite this reported offer.

According to Italian reporter Ekrem Konur, Chelsea have offer Dortmund 70 million euros plus Tammy Abraham for Haaland.

If this offer is legit, I believe it will be far too low for Dortmund to accept, but it at least wets the waters on the deal and opens the dialogue.

Even with Abraham in the deal, I believe Chelsea will need to offer close to 100m euros if they are to at least get Dortmund to listen.

However, I think if the price is right it will be impossible for them to reject an offer this summer, taking into account the financial problems caused by the pandemic, and the fact they will lose Haaland for much less next summer when his release clause kicks in.
