Reports from Italy have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is willing to swap Mateo Kovacic in order to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana.

According to Inter Live, the Blues are very keen on a move to bring in the Cameroon goalkeeper who recently impressed on the way to the Champions League final.

Plenty of praise came Onana’s way after the Serie A side got the better of their city rivals to set up a date with Manchester City in the final next month.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with the signing of a goalkeeper this summer after they have been left underwhelmed by the seasons of both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.

Chelsea could offer Kovacic for Onana

The Inter man has been one of the names the club have been linked with signing for around £40m, although this was before it was close to confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino was going to take over the club as the new manager.

Reports have previously claimed that the Argentine would not have made Onana his first choice to be the new goalkeeper, potentially bringing the first conflict of interests between the manager and the board.

It seems as if the Blues interest is not wavering though, with it now being claimed that they are willing to swap Kovacic in order to bring in the goalkeeper.

Reports have claimed that the Croatian is not likely to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge, which is set to expire at the end of next season.

A midfielder is also a position the Blues are looking to add to their ranks this summer, with links to Premier League stars Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo among others to potentially partner Enzo Fernandez.
