Chelsea are now considered to be the side leading the race for Kounde. Manchester United and a few other clubs are also keen but the Blues are most likely to sign him. The French defender is expected to cost a good amount in the range of €65m.
Kounde has made a name for himself in the short while he has been at Sevilla. That has encouraged teams from all over Europe to keep an eye on him. He was a central part en route to Sevilla’s Europa League win in 2020. Called up to the France side for the Euros, he was handed a start in the game against Portugal.

With Tuchel switching to a back three, it does make sense to go after at least one new centre-back. Refreshing the defensive options ahead of next season might be a very good idea.
In Kounde, Chelsea will get a player they can rely on for years. While the price tag is by no means a small amount, the Blues could be getting their money’s worth in Kounde.
Chelsea aim to sign Jules Kounde, €65m-rated target for Man United.
