It’s not the first time this has been reported, although the more we hear it the more convinced we are.
Relevo in Spain are reporting as an exclusive that Real Madrid have already decided to not make any attempt to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga permanently this summer after being disappointed with his performances on loan from Chelsea as cover for the injured Thibaut Courtois.
He’s been so poor that he has himself been dropped at times, with youngster Andriy Lunin (who is not much good himself) alternating with the Spaniard quite regularly.
So once again it looks like Chelsea’s unwanted £80m man is going to boomerang back to the club in the summer, with nobody interested in buying him and the Blues unwilling to accept taking a major loss on his remaining book value.
Rather than raise interest in him for next summer, this loan looks to have simply exposed more flaws in his game.
