Declan Rice was among a number of players to praise Reece James following his Champions League heroics for Chelsea yesterday.
James blew the roof off Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening whilst firing a hole through the middle of the Juventus heart.
The 21-year-old was at the centre of Chelsea’s 4-0 deconstruction of the Serie A outfit, which ensured the home side’s safe passage to the knockout rounds.
He stung the fingertips of Wojciech Szczesny twice in the first half, but eventually put one past the Pole after the interval. His deliveries constantly threatened the Juve rear-guard, as did the defender’s marauding runs down the right.
It was another night to remember for the England international. One that he ensured would stick around for a while by uploading a celebratory picture to his Instagram.
A post that was met with an outpour of loving messages from his teammates and friends. Rice and Abraham both left one-worded responses to the right-back’s awesome European performance.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, a joyful spectator from the bench, also hailed his Chelsea co-worker. As did Antonio Rudiger, who played his part in the Juve deconfiguration on the pitch.
Lauren James, sister of Reece and fellow Blue, shared some family joy.
