Chelsea set to sell top centre-back talent with buyback clause

Crystal Palace are close to completing permanent signing of Chelsea defender Marc Guehi for £20m (including add-ons), according to the Evening Standard.
The 21-year-old is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Eagles, and a medical has been booked for later today ahead of the transfer being made official.
Guehi has spent the last eighteen months out on loan at Championships side Swansea City, where he helped them reach the playoffs on two separate occasions.

Despite some tipping him to make the breakthrough into Chelsea’s first team, though, it seems Blues boss Thomas Tuchel doesn’t see him being part of his long-term plans.
Guehi has been at Cobham for 14 years, having arrived after being spotted playing for Cray Wanderers’ Under 9s. £20m is, however, a rather sizeable figure for someone who has never played a league game for the club, and that money will certainly come in useful as the Blues look to make purchases of their own this summer. They do also have a buyback option included just in case he performs well at Selhurst Park.
