The former Chelsea favourite Frank Leboeuf gave Sevilla defender Jules Kounde a fine review amid major transfer links to Chelsea.

Leboeuf has backed Chelsea’s proposed move for Jules Kounde, describing the Sevilla star as a “warrior” who “has everything”.

Kounde is seriously under the microscope of Thomas Tuchel’s Champions League winners, and Leboeuf thinks the 22-year-old would be a valuable addition to Thomas Tuchel’s ranks at Stamford Bridge, but has also suggested that he won’t just walk straight into the Blues’ starting XI if he joins the club this summer.

“He’s (Kounde) a fantastic player,” the former Chelsea centre-back has told ESPN. “He has everything. He is a warrior. He never gives up. He has everything. He is the future for sure.

Frank Leboeuf gave his lowdown on the potential newest recruit to arrive at Stamford Bridge

“Maybe it’s an opportunity for Chelsea to get him maybe not this season, but next season.

“I don’t know what Kounde wants to do in his life, if he’s ready to be on the bench more than he thinks he will be. It’s up to him. It would be a good signing for Chelsea.”

Despite not turning 23 until November, Kounde has a wealth of experience already tucked away under his belt. He has played 159 senior matches combined for Sevilla and Bordeaux, including action in the Champions League and Europa League.

Not to mention one appearance at this summers’ European Championships with France. Statistically, he was one of the best performers in La Liga last season.

It’s therefore no surprise Chelsea want to prize him away from his Spanish settlement. Who makes away for Kounde is another question Tuchel and the Blues board must try and figure out.
