Chelsea legend, John Terry despite leaving the Blues at the end of the 2016/17 season, the former club captain still takes games against the London clubs very seriously.
One example of this was on show last season when Villa dented Tottenham’s hopes of playing Europa League football next season by winning 2-1 in north London.
As reported by the Mirror, Tottenham fans attempted to wind Terry up by singing about Ledley King being a better central defender than him during their playing days.
However, he had the perfect response.
It was revealed that Terry couldn’t resist turning around and holding up an imaginary trophy to the Spurs fans – reminding them it was yet another trophyless season in N17.
As imagination comes to reality, few weeks later Chelsea lifted European football’s biggest prize by beating Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League final thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz.
With the trophy back in the Stamford Bridge, Blues supporters are waiting for the chance to see it paraded in front of them for the first time.
supporters will have to make do with seeing the trophy walked around Stamford Bridge ahead of Chelsea’s pre-season friendly with Spurs on August 4.
Upon hearing of this plan, Terry took to Instagram and delivered his verdict with a series of laughing and clapping emojis, whilst rounding his response off with a trophy emoji.
It’s safe to say Terry has got one over on Spurs yet again and some Chelsea fans on Reddit were delighted with his response.
