Chelsea players will be feeling intense nerves and excited right about now as they get set to play in most of their biggest games of their lives so far, all bar perhaps world cup winners Olivier Giroud and N’Golo Kante.
The young players will be feeling all sorts of emotions right now as they get set to face Manchester City in the Champions League final tomorrow night.
It’s the biggest stage in domestic football, and one player in particular is looking to succeed in lifting silverware in his first season at the club.
Left back Ben Chilwell admits he joined Chelsea to win trophies, and just imagine if the first one he manages to lift is the Champions League?
It will be a dream come true for many players, but they just have the small (MASSIVE) task of beating the Champions of England, Manchester City tomorrow night.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Chilwell said:
“I’ve come to Chelsea to win trophies like this. The rest of the squad the same. It’s a big one, it’s one we want to win.
“We want to win stuff year in, year out. We want to win trophies, we want to win the league. That is our aim.
“At Chelsea, that is always the aim.
“You come to Chelsea to win trophies, to fight for the title every season and get to cup finals. This season we’ve managed to secure top four, got into an FA Cup final and now the Champions League
“I watched in 2012 too. It was a good game in Munich, seeing an English team win it and, again, my dad made sure I knew it was a great thing for English football. And you start to appreciate a club’s history.
“People are talking about it around the training ground. It would be nice if we could replicate that, and go and get that Champions League trophy for the second time for the club.”
