Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku said he enjoyed his partnerships with Kai Havertz and Mason Mount in his second Chelsea debut in the 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday.

Mason Mount and Kai Havertz were given the licence to roam in the final third, but as expected, Lukaku mostly stays higher up the pitch as the focal point.

It was actually Reece James who created the 28-year-old’s debut goal, but Mount was also very close to providing an assist for Lukaku if it was not for Bernd Leno’s spectacular save in the second half.

Speaking to Sky Sports (via Football Daily) before the game, Tuchel said that Lukaku’s having clicked very well with Mount and Havertz was part of the reason why these three started in the first place.

Lukaku seems to agree with the manager’s assessment, although he is also thankful that he has so many other partner options in the team.

“It was great. We had great combinations,” Lukaku told Chelsea TV about his partnerships with Havertz and Mount.

“Those boys are very talented, very hungry.

“I feel blessed to be in this situation, that I have many, many players whom I can link up with in the team.

“The coach [also] has a lot of players at his disposal, so it’s up to us to make sure that we train well.

“Whoever those players are, it’s going to be dangerous in this team.”
