Chelsea’s defensive trio Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta, who are all out of contract in the Summer, have their future up in the air, after the massive developments at Chelsea.
Roman Abramovich’s decision to put up Chelsea for Sale has complicated the long-running concern for the Blues Board to take a call on the contract situations of the trio.
Journalist Dean Jones, on GiveMeSport reported that “An immediate concern on the back of Roman selling is how it impacts the rebuild of this team.”
“In the summer they need to sign important new defenders and are contemplating a new midfielder and probably a forward, yet new uncertainty over where the club is heading will make talks much more difficult – and also you wonder how much they’ll be investing in the immediate future.”
“The same applies to the guys they want to keep, like Rudiger and Azpilicueta. If anything this makes their exits even more likely.”
The news, is definitely not the most shocking, compared to the devastating news fans recieved last week, that Roman wants to sell the club.
What we can all hope is that atleast two of our three defenders reach a compromise and continue to play for Chelsea.
