Chelsea's captain Cesar Azpiliceuta has allegedly signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2024.

They have been reluctant to let Azpilicueta go since the new owners took over. They have long claimed that they cannot let him leave the club and that Chelsea requires a leader like him.
However, at Stamford Bridge, everything is changing ahead of the 2022/23 season. Chelsea has new owners, and players have been let go and replaced.
One thing that hasn’t changed at the football team is Azpilicueta. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Premier League team.
Azpilicueta, who joined the Premier League for just Β£7 million, has been one of the league’s best bargain purchases over the previous 10 years.
Brighton deny there has been a Marc Cucurella deal with Chelsea
Since the beginning of 2019, the Spaniard has served as their captain. Over the previous three seasons, his leadership and expertise have been crucial.
Despite having a conversation with Barca, Todd Boehly has refrained from selling Azpi. To buy time, he first demanded a sum greater than what the club had paid for him in 2012.
Todd wants him to stay so that he doesn’t immediately part ways with his captain and legend. Tuchel wanted to settle the issue before to the start of the Premier League because he does not want to lose him.
Next season, Azpilicueta will partner with Kalidou Koulibaly, a new defender.Chelsea have also signed Raheem Sterling for a significant fee this summer, but they have not had it all their own way in the transfer market.
They have mostly been hampered by Barcelona’s antics. Andreas Christensen joined the La Liga club on a free transfer earlier this summer after his contract at Chelsea expired in July.
Barcelona also found the finances to buy Raphinha and Jules Kounde from Leeds United ahead of the Blues. The club had also expressed interest in Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.

π£ Gerard Romero: "Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is still Barcelona's main goal as their new left-back."
But it appears that their search for Azpilicueta is ended at this point. On Thursday afternoon, the 32-year-old inked a new two-deal contract, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
π¨ Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new two-year contract that will keep the right-back at Chelsea until June 2024. Azpilicueta has made 476 appearances since arriving from Marseille in 2012 and won every single trophy possible in club competitions. π (David Ornstein)
According to the article, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly was ‘determined’ to keep the defender.
