Giacomo Raspadori controlled a ball over the top from Leonardo Bonucci and scored from the edge of the box in between three England defenders to give Italy, which didn’t make it to the World Cup in Qatar, a lead at the San Siro.

The night’s most spectacular goal was scored by Hungary captain dám Szalai, who did it 17 minutes into the game after a corner. The ball flew over goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen’s head and inside the far post because Germany captain Thomas Müller, who was manning Szalai, didn’t appear to anticipate that Szalai would attempt a shot on goal with his back to the net from a steep angle.

Very bad form ahead of the World Cup for England...

With 10 points, Hungary is in first place in Group 3, followed by Italy (8 points), Germany (6 points), and England (2).

🇭🇺 Hungary beat Germany in a competitive match for the first time since the 1972 Olympics in Munich - half a century ago!

Excluding the Olympics, it is the first competitive Hungarian win over Germany since the Golden Team of the 1950s won 8-3 in the 1954 World Cup group stages!

Just a crazy story by Hungary 😁

Italy will go to Hungary on Monday, and England will host Germany for the last round of group games. The group champion secures a place in the finals in June.
