Denis Zakaria determined to prove himself at Chelsea

Denis Zakaria has stated that he needs to “improve some things” in order to be a regular starter for Chelsea F.C.
Chelsea Online News:

Thomas Tuchel signed the Switzerland international on loan from Juventus in the final hours of the summer transfer window, only to have him fired a week later.

Since then, Zakaira has hardly played under Graham Potter, and despite Chelsea’s struggles in that league, the 26-year-old has yet to play a single minute of Premier League game.

Zakaria has been limited to two starts, one in the EFL Cup at Manchester City and one in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb.

Zakaria has stated that he is still in charge of persuading Potter of his qualities in the center of the pitch before Chelsea’s return to competitive match against Bournemouth on December 27.

Speaking to the media, as quoted by GOAL, Zakaria said: “I’m still positive about it all, and then I’ll see what will happen. I still need to improve some things and show the coach what I can.

“When I get to play, I have to show that I am good. It has not been enough so far, but I work hard to get my chance in this big club.”

Zakaria, to his credit, made a good impression in each game and scored on his Blues debut, although he wasn’t used as a substitute against Newcastle United the previous time around.

Zakaria has a permanent contract with Chelsea, but that clause is not likely to be exercised as long as Potter is still considering other options for the player.

Zakaria was still selected for the Switzerland team for the World Cup despite not having played for his club. The tournament ended on Sunday with Argentina narrowly defeating France to take home the Jules Rimet Trophy.

In Qatar, Zakaria made two substitute appearances, playing for 21 minutes against Serbia in the group stages and 36 minutes during Portugal’s 6-1 victory in the round of 16.

Zakaria has already returned to Chelsea in advance of their Christmas and New Year’s schedules, with the latter game occurring on December 6.
