It’s disheartening to see that after Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi, we are set to see another Blues central defender on the way out of Stamford Brige.

Andreas Christensen’s contract situation has now hit an all-time Low, unlike his other soon-to-be-out of contract teammates Like Rudiger and Azpilicueta.

It was reported by the German outlet Sport1 via Chelsea Chronicle, that Christensen has demanded a big new offer so as to stay at west London, which has come as a blow to Chelsea. Christensen has come from the Chelsea Academy to becoming one of the Critical members of our defence, even playing a vital part in Chelsea’s 2020/21 UEFA Champions League triumph.

Thomas Tuchel still considers the 25-year-old defender a key part to his season’s plans and thereafter, but the recent update seems to have caused a disappointment. Chelsea and Granovskaia had clearly expected Christensen to sign a new contract at the end of the season.

Christensen is not happy with his present salary of €100,000 (£84,000)-per-week and is now asking for twice that amount, to make himself one of Premier league’s top paid defenders.

Although Chelsea have not made a final decision yet, Barca Times and other prominent newpapers have addressed that He is in talks with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich who will give him a big signing bonus on the new contract, exactly what he needs right now.

Only time can complete the story, and what we can hope is for Chelsea to sort out the contract situation of atleast two of their out-of-contract defenders.
