Achraf Hakimi has been Chelsea’s most heavily linked player in recent weeks, the Inter Milan right wing back who appears to be the club’s top target this summer.

Inter are in some financial trouble and might be induced to sell their prize possession with a big enough bid, while Chelsea have a fairly complete squad and can really focus their spending on major players like him.

It all seems nicely set up for a move to take place, although there is a potential spanner in the works.

PSG are also interested, and according to French reporter Romain Collet-Gaudin, they would be Hakimi’s preferred destination.

If it comes down to a straight choice between the two – and it might well do – the Parisians would have the edge.

But he might still end up falling into Chelsea’s lap – rumours yesterday linked PSG with a bid for Tottenham’s Serge Aurier, who plays in the same position. If he makes the move, Hakimi might find he’s only got one interested party – the Blues.
