Chelsea will win the Premier League next season if they complete a deal for Romelu Lukaku, according to former England star Trevor Sinclair.
The Blues are said to be closing in on a deal for Inter Milan and Belgium striker Lukaku, with Thomas Tuchel keen to welcome him back to Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku of course spent three years at Chelsea earlier in his career but at that time he was not the prolific and devastating striker he is today
The 28-year-old has scored 64 goals in 95 matches for Inter Milan and starred for Antonio Conte’s side last season as they stormed to the Serie A title.
Despite thriving in Milan, Lukaku is said to be interested in a move back to west London and Sinclair says he would fire Chelsea to the Premier League title if he returned this summper.
He told talkSPORT: ‘If Chelsea get Romelu Lukaku, they win the Premier League, unless Manchester City do more business. That’s the way I look at it. It’s as simple as that.
‘If Chelsea land Lukaku, which is looking pretty likely, and Man City don’t get another striker other than [Gabriel] Jesus, I think Chelsea win the Premier League.’
Romelu Lukaku’s agent discussed his client’s future earlier in the week and urged Inter supporters to be patient as they wait for further details.
Federico Pastorello said: ‘I apologize on behalf of Inter fans for the bad words in these comments… everything is fine, but exaggerating in this way seems too much to me.
‘But if you can do what you can to keep Lukaku you would make many happy… Otherwise thanks anyway and good luck.’
Responding with a short message, which has since been deleted, Pastorello said: ‘Thank you for these words of yours. You will be able to hear our reasons soon, however this turns out.’
