Graham Potter will be in charge of them after taking over for Thomas Tuchel as the club’s head coach last week after the Chelsea owners decided to hire a manager who matched their aims and targets.

“The truth of our choice was that Thomas may not have accepted our perspective, “Chairman Todd Boehly remarked.

“There is no right or wrong; we simply lacked a common outlook on the future.

“It wasn’t about Zagreb; it was about our common ideal of how Chelsea should operate.

“It wasn’t a choice that was based on one win or one loss.

We believed that this choice represented the best possible future for the club

It follows Chelsea‘s summer spending of more than £250 million to replace and rebuild the team after a number of departures, including those of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Romelu Lukaku, and Timo Werner.

Potter has been given the keys and the chance to lead Chelsea into the future under the new owners after being offered a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 47-year-old will be hoping that his squad, which he has described as honest and full of quality and which includes international stars, will enable him finish in the top four at the end of the season.

The squad list for Chelsea’s 2022–2023 season, which contains 25 first-team players, has now been released by the Premier League.
