Chelsea slap £50million price tag on Conor Gallagher, yet to meet Brighton’s valuation for top target Moise Caicedo

Conor Gallagher now has a £50m price tag from Chelsea following a verbal contact from West Ham, according to a source.

Conor Gallagher, who is also receiving interest from Tottenham, is not worried about the future.

Along with Gallagher, West Ham is also interested in Scott McTominay, James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez of Ajax, and Youssouf Fofana of Monaco.

Joao Palhinha of Fulham has had two offers from the Hammers turned down.

With Chelsea, Gallagher has two years left on his current contract. They know that this summer is his last chance to negotiate a large bid for the England international.

Chelsea ready to nip in with bid to sign Manchester United’s defender target

The 23-year-old made 35 Premier League games and scored three goals last season.

His efforts at Selhurst Park in the 2021/22 season earned him the title of the Eagles’ player of the year. It followed prior loan stints at West Brom and Crystal Palace.

Gallagher has had a strong start to the preseason and scored in last weekend’s 4-3 win over Brighton in Philadelphia.

But despite a strong start under his new manager Mauricio Pochettino, his future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain.

After losing Jorginho in January and more recently N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a departure would leave Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino short of midfielders.

Chelsea board respond to Brighton rejecting £70m Moises Caicedo bid

Chelsea and Brighton are still in negotiations for Moises Caicedo, although Chelsea have been unable to meet Brighton’s demand of more than £100m.

Since coming close to joining Arsenal in January, the Ecuadorian has been the subject of a lengthy transfer saga.

Chelsea have since taken the lead in the pursuit of the highly related midfielder and want to complete a deal before the transfer window closes.
