Liverpool teenager Ethan Ennis is on the verge of a move to Chelsea, who have beaten Man United for his signature. The Liverpool youngster appeared to have turned down a new deal in favour of a switch to Chelsea, convinced by the club’s commitment towards teenagers
Ethan is currently contracted to Liverpool Youth, where he featured in eight U18 PL games for the Reds U18 side. He is an offensive midfielder by trade, blessed with technical prowess. Ennis is also quite skilled in one-on-one situations making him a snappy attacker who can use his burst of pace to beat footballers at will.
In addition to dynamism in the final third, Ethan is proficient when it comes to delivering crosses into the box. Ennis also favours playing on the left-hand side, where he can drift infield and have an attempt on goal. At the age of just 16, Ethan has already raised a lot of eyebrows with his skill and performances in the English youth divisions.
His move to Chelsea could see him continue his growth as he joins a large contingent of talented young players who are keen on making the breakthrough in professional football. One of Chelsea’s finest teenagers in Valentino Livramento has already had a lot of success this past campaign.
Chelsea have been known to secure the best young talents for the club’s youth setup. And in recent years, there has been a pathway laid down from the academy to the first-team, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, Mason Mount, Tino Anjorin breaking into the senior side.
