Chelsea’s pre-season is now well underway as we enter the fourth day of full training at Cobham today.
The players started to arrive back last week to undergo various covid testing and preparations, and this week has seen the full group arrive back in, all apart from those that featured in the Euros this summer.
The Blues will play in a behind closed doors friendly match this Saturday against Peterborough, then next week there are plans for a potential match in Dublin and some training, then back for a pre-season game against Bournemouth that has just been announced by Football London, as seen below.

The match against Bournemouth will be on a Tuesday, July the 27th.
As The UEFA Super Cup fast approaches, these will be some vital matches to get the group playing out in a proper match together and letting Thomas Tuchel see who he wants to keep in the squad this season.

Chelsea will face Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup later this summer, with the game to be played at Windsor Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Wednesday 11 August. Further details are set to be announced in due course.

By contrast, it will be Villarreal’s first UEFA Super Cup outing; the UEFA Europa League title was, in fact, only their second ever trophy – their first was winning the Spanish third tier in 1970 (though they were among the three clubs that won through the UEFA Intertoto Cup in both 2003 and 2004).
Chelsea have lifted the Super Cup once, defeating Real Madrid 1-0 in 1998 thanks to Gus Poyet’s winning goal. We last featured in the competition in 2019, where we lost to Liverpool on penalties in Istanbul.

Thomas Tuchel will be looking forward to maintain the same momentum and intensity such of his last game with Manchester City to secure his second major trophy for Chelsea Football Club.
