Back to business.

Chelsea will trip to south coast of England to take on Bournemouth in their second pre-season friendly match of the summer on Tuesday evening at the Vitality stadium.

The Blues started their pre-season friendly campaign with a 6-1 victory over Peterborough United in a behind-closed-doors, after couple of training session at Cobham training base.

Thomas Tuchel’s men are now focus on the remaining pre-season friendly match fixtures after the Dublin trip got stopped halfway. Next up is a match against Bournemouth tomorrow (Tuesday, 27 July – 7:45pm kick-off – UK time)

Heading into the game, Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner all returned to Chelsea training on Saturday. However, they are unlikely to participate in Chelsea’s match against Bournemouth tomorrow.

Those six players will almost certainly miss the trip to the South Coast, handing further opportunities to members of the squad who did not feature in a major tournament this summer.

Edouard Mendy, Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Tammy Abraham should all start on Tuesday evening.

The game will be streamed live and available globally free of charge on The 5th Stand app and the Chelsea website.

Bournemouth and Chelsea are no strangers to each other having squared off in 12 Premier League and EFL Cup fixtures between 2015 and 2020.

Although Chelsea prevailed in seven of those fixtures, Bournemouth are currently on a three-match unbeaten streak against their more illustrious opponents.

It is an open fact that, the current European Champions showed no mercy against Peterborough last time out.

Prediction: We expect a similar kind of performance on Tuesday night. While Bournemouth may trouble the Blues at times, the European champions possess the quality required to canter to victory, so we predict an emphatic 4-1 win in favour of Chelsea.

The Blues will then continue their hard work heading to the Emirates stadium to take on Arsenal in the Mind Series tournament on August 1st at 3:00pm before host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on August 4th at 7:45pm.

Thomas Tuchel & co. then heading to Belfast for the Super Cup against Villarreal on August 11 before start their 2021/22 Premier League season on August 14 at home to Crystal Palace. The real game begins!
