Chelsea loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi has now thanked Bayer Leverkusen after his time on loan there has come to an end.

He took to Twitter to wish the best to the Bundesliga side as he prepares to return to West London to try and prove himself ahead of next season.

It has certainly not been an ideal spell away for Hudson-Odoi, who will have been hoping that his time away from Stamford Bridge will have shown everyone at Chelsea what he is capable of.

After featuring a lot in the first half of the season, appearances fell off a cliff in the latter stages of the campaign. This came as a result of Xabi Alonso becoming the new manager of the club.

Unfortunately for the England man, his absence from the side coincided with their recovery from what had been a dire start to the campaign in all competitions.

Hudson-Odoi reacts to loan

The club yesterday announced that they were thanking Hudson-Odoi for his efforts this season, despite there still being one more game of the Bundesliga season to go this weekend.

Now, the winger has given his own statement on Twitter in thanks to the supporters in particular of Leverkusen.

He said: “Thank you Leverkusen fans, it’s been great to be part of the journey! All the best.”

It is likely that the forward is at least given a chance to impress the new manager when they take over at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.

It is widely expected to be Mauricio Pochettino who takes over this summer from Frank Lampard who is currently there on an interim basis.

The Argentine is well known for being a fan of homegrown stars, so it is very likely that he will at least have an opportunity to prove his talents for what could be a sensational return.
