Julian Nagelsmann has overtaken Luis Enrique as the favourite for the Chelsea job – with the club’s ‘co-sporting directors impressed by the former Bayern Munich coach after meeting last week.

According to German media, Julian Nagelsmann has overtaken Luis Enrique as the favorite to become the next Chelsea Boss.
Chelsea FC fired Graham Potter after seven months in charge, when the Blues were 11th in the Premier League table, having won only 12 of his 31 games in charge.
Frank Lampard, who was fired by Chelsea FC in January 2021 after a season and a half in charge, has returned to Stamford Bridge as interim manager.
He will lead the Blues through the completion of the current campaign. This provides the Chelsea hierarchy some time to find a suitable long-term replacement.
He will be in command of the Blues till the end of the season. This provides the Chelsea leadership time to identify a viable long-term replacement for Potter.
The top candidate for the job have been identified as Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique. However, Mauricio Pochettino and Ruben Amorim remain in contention.

Sky Sports Germany reports that Julian Nagelsmann has overtaken Luis Enrique as the favorite to take over as manager of Chelsea FC.
Julian Nagelsmann reportedly met with Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart last Thursday in London.
They had a meeting with the former Bayern Munich manager to go over his plans for Chelsea and how they would be carried out.
The leaders of Chelsea FC reportedly found Nagelsmann’s proposals to be inspiring, and discussions that followed were fruitful, although no decision has yet been made.
Enrique, meantime, has been jobless since leaving his position as Spain’s head coach after the World Cup in Qatar last December.
Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique, the two leading candidates, have both been in touch with the Blues.
