Todd Boehly’s pitchside response to Chelsea 1-0 Leeds is telling for Graham Potter after first win in eight games.

Todd Boehly, the chairman, had a concise three-word response when asked about Chelsea‘s performance in a tight win over Leeds United on Saturday.

When asked if he enjoyed the game, American tycoon Boehly gave the media a direct reply.

He simply responded, “It’s a result,” before smiling.

The win is Graham Potter‘s second in 12 games overall and first in eight games overall. In the 27 games in charge for the club since taking Thomas Tuchel’s place, Potter has lost 10 more games than he has won.Β 

Following the game, the former Brighton manager said it was ‘nice to go home with a win’ after the club had gone through a ‘challenging period,’ with fans calling for his sacking.

He said: ‘It [the feeling after winning] is better than the opposite, that’s for sure.

‘I’m delighted for the players and I’m delighted for the supporters because they are the most important people at the football club. People care. Players want to win and supporters want us to do well.

‘If you don’t get results it is my responsibility. I accept that. It’s been a tough period for us all and it’s nice to go home with a win. It’s good for confidence and morale.

‘Now we have to prepare for a really exciting game on Tuesday night which I’m sure will be a fantastic occasion and we will try and win. It is [massive]. 

‘We’ve had to suffer. The boys have been suffering because they care, they do. Our supporters have been suffering. It’s been a challenging period.’

Chelsea will host German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last 16 second leg on Tuesday, trailing 1-0 from the first leg, before traveling to Leicester on Saturday.
