Chelsea were among several sides ‘most interested’ in signing Leandro Spinazzola according to Sky Sports journalist Angelo Mangiante

The AS Roma and Italy wing-back suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the 2-1 win v Belgium in the Round of 8.

Spinazzola is expected to spend from 6 to 7 months on the sidelines.

And according to the reporter, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia were among the first people to contact the player to wish him a speedy recovery.

He’s been one of the best performers at the European Championship so far, helping Italy get to the semi-finals.

And while he proved to be a fantastic player for the Azzurri, he is definitely not going to make a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
