The Blues may not need to dip into the transfer market for a new midfielder after one loan star reveals he will return ahead of the new season.
Conor Gallagher has sparked excitment among Chelsea fans after the promising young midfielder took to social media to reveal he has returned to the club.

Gallagher spent last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, where he put in a number of impressive performances but ultimately could not prevent relegation.
His most recent Instagram activity involved Gallagher resharing a video first posted by his girlfriend, which showed the midfielder donning a pair of boots.
The clip was also accompanied by a caption that read: “Getting himself ready for his first day tomorrow”.
The caption is referring to the fact Gallagher will be returning to Chelsea’s Cobham training base for pre-season ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Thomas Tuchel is yet to have a pre-season with his side, having touched down in West London at the turn of the year to replace Frank Lampard.

His first session is likely to be made up of a number of players who were loaned out from the club last season, all looking to impress the German boss as they try to force their way into his plans for the upcoming season.
Gallagher falls into that bracket and most likely stands the best chance of all the loan stars after establishing himself as one of the most talented players in the West Brom dressing room last term.

The news that Gallagher had reported back for pre-season training went down with Blues fans on social media, with one fan taking to twitter to write “outstanding piece of news.”
Another jokingly claimed “My Baller! Mason Mount better be scared!”.
Though Chelsea’s Academy boasts some of the best youngsters in the country, Gallagher is one of the most highly-rated prospects at the club.
So much so, that both previous managers Maurizio Sarri and Lampard involved him in the first-team set up at one stage.
He was crowned Chelsea’s academy player of the year in Sarri’s only season at the club, before being awarded West Brom’s player of the year last season.

Gallagher has caught the eye of a number of other Premier League clubs, but if Tuchel is willing to give the talented young player a chance – it could save him millions in the long run.
