Raheem Sterling and Chelsea have reached a personal agreement in advance of a possible transfer from Manchester City.
Sterling is definitely set on moving from City to Chelsea, and it’s expected that the two clubs will be able to agree on a transfer fee for the 27-year-old.
According to a June article in The Athletic, Chelsea was getting more confident that they might sign a player this summer for a bargain price because his contract only had one year left on it.
It is believed that Sterling spoke with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about what it’s like to work there and was impressed with the German coach’s plans for the team.
A deal is now anticipated to occur soon.
For the reigning Premier League champions over his seven years at City, Sterling has tallied 131 goals in 339 appearances.
In July 2015, for an initial £44 million, he moved to City from Liverpool. Since then, he has won four Premier League championships, one FA Cup, and three League Cups.
Chelsea has increased confidence in getting Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, and negotiations between the two Premier League rivals are anticipated to be completed in the next 24 hours.
