Glenn Hoddle was full of praise for Chelsea loanee Armando Broja during his latest Southampton performance on Wednesday night.
Broja, 20, is enjoying a brilliant season-long spell away from Stamford Bridge at Premier League rivals Southampton.
The young centre-forward has now become an ever-present in the starting line-up but has done it the hard way after fighting to win over Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.
He was involved in a dramatic 3-2 win for Southampton away to Tottenham in the league. Broja scored a brilliant first-time finish to make it 1-1 during the first-half against Spurs, which was his eighth goal of the season across all competitions.
Pundit Hoddle, who was commentating on the game, was amazed by the quality of the Chelsea loanee’s strike.
“It’s a lovely instinctive finish from Broja. He’s looked dangerous Broja all day. He’s such a good striker. You wonder if he’s going to go back to Chelsea at one stage and become a Chelsea player for next season,” Hoddle told BT Sport.
Broja getting on the scoresheet tonight against Spurs and celebrating in front of their supporters is yet another massive tick for an excited Chelsea fanbase. He’s beginning to consistently show he’s cut out to be a top Premier League striker at the age of 20.
He’s been labelled the next Diego Costa by some of the Chelsea fanbase in the past, which makes sense when you see he’s a bullish forward with great strength and directness.
