According to reports, Chelsea and Barcelona have reached a signing agreement for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international have agreed on a cost of Β£18 million, and that a transfer to Stamford Bridge is getting closer by the day.

Aubameyang’s time at Arsenal came to a tragic end when manager Mikel Arteta stripped him of the captaincy, and he only joined Barcelona in January.

Aubameyang has appeared in 24 games and scored 13 goals for the Catalan club since joining the Camp Nou.

His time with the La Liga powerhouses appears to be coming to an end, in part because the team signed Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. Aubameyang is unable to accept the fact that his possibilities will be significantly constrained as a result.

Aubameyang and Thomas Tuchel will be reunited with Chelsea’s transfer back to the Premier League; the two previously spent time together when Tuchel was the manager of German Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund.

The Stamford Bridge club has been scouring for a striker all summer after losing Timo Werner to Red Bull Leipzig and Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

Aubameyang has reportedly been seen at the airport, and Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing the striker, according to Barcelona source Gerard Romero.

As the team looks to compete on all fronts this season, Chelsea will be expecting that Aubameyang can bring his best form with him.

In addition to Aubameyang, Chelsea is still looking to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City and Anthony Gordon from Everton. Gordon’s agreement appears to be close to being finalized shortly, while Fofana’s transaction is a little trickier because Leicester is reluctant to sell.
