Brazilian club speed up plans for Chelsea outcast forward

Flamengo have finally made a concrete move to sign Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy, according to the latest reports from Brazil.

Globo Esporte claims that at the weekend, the Rio de Janeiro outfit have submitted a formal proposal for the transfer of the 25-year-old on a loan stint.

Bertolucci is the one handling the negotiations for the move.

It seems there is still no response from the Blues thus far, although recent reports from his homeland have been claiming that Chelsea will wait and see if the star gets some offers from Europe before they loan the player out to a South American side.

Flamengo confirmed on Saturday the arrival of boss Renato Gaucho, and in a press conference, football vice-president Marcos Braz said that the club are engaged in negotiations for some players as well.

“On Kenedy, we depend on Chelsea’s release and we’re trying. Thiago Mendes, Bruno is trying tirelessly with Lyon. Flamengo will not buy any players,” Renato said.

“We intend to bring them on loan and, if possible, with no financial cost. This leaves us fragile in the negotiation, very different from other times. We must have patience.”
