Chelsea’s star German centreback, Antonio Rudiger, who is out of contract in the Summer, has been in talks for a while now, for a big contract extension. Despite the numerous offers, he has always been linked with a move to some top clubs like Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich, who are all set for a bidding war for the Big defender.

The Mail has just now reported that we have offered him a fresh deal worth close to £200,000 per week, a number that we expected him to be quite happy with. But the amount seems to have been short of Rudiger’s demands, which comes as a blow to our hopes to keep him at Chelsea, but what gives us hope is that he is still open to further communication and negotiations.

Even Rudiger is expecting an offer close to his expectations and Stamford Bridge is still his preferred home for next season, so we can expect a compromise to strike anytime soon. The 28-year-old, who now earns £100,000 per week, wants a significant increase that will make him one of our highest earners, but only few can disagree that he is one of our biggest contributors on the pitch.
