Malmo defender Anel Ahmedhozic believes Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner’s absences for Chelsea will make his job easier in the Champions League tie.
The striker pair, along with Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, and N’Golo Kante, have been left out of the Chelsea squad that has travelled to Sweden.
The defender said during the pre-match press conference: “Of course, Lukaku is a challenge. He’s very big and strong.
Werner is the faster one. So it’s easier to face Chelsea without these two.”
Asked whether their absences would improve Malmo’s chances on Tuesday, he added: “Yeah probably, a little bit.”
Well, to be fair, most centre-backs would be glad to not have to deal with Lukaku’s strength and Werner’s pace.
As it stands, the Blues sit second in Group H with six points — three points behind leaders Juventus. Malmo, on the other hand, are still without a point from the first three group qualification games.
