Frenkie de Jong prefers a move to Chelsea over a move to Manchester United, as Barcelona looks to cash in on the Netherlands international.

Manchester United and Barcelona agreed on a sum of £63 million for the midfielder last month.
De Jong wants to settle a dispute with Barcelona over outstanding wages owing to him in the amount of £17 million before leaving the club, and United have been unable to persuade him to transfer to Old Trafford.
De Jong feels as though he is being forced out of the club, but he is becoming more and more content with the reality that his time at the Nou Camp is finished, and he must now make decisions about his future.
Thought to have been a crucial factor in United’s pursuit of the Dutchman was Erik ten Hag’s friendship with De Jong, the Times reports that the midfielder would prefer to join Chelsea.

De Jong is given the opportunity to play in the Champions League by the Blues this season, and he is rumored to prefer living in London versus transferring to the north-west.
United has been trying for the past 13 weeks to sign De Jong, but little has happened in the last three weeks, which has allowed Chelsea to step in.
The Blues are willing to match United’s bid to the La Liga giants and have started negotiations with Barcelona about a deal for the former Ajax star.
